By regular digicam standards, the SH100 has slightly above-average specs, like one of Samsung's DualView models, but without the front-facing LCD. But it's slightly more interesting than that: It packs WiFi b/g/n capabilities for easy sharing, and it can also be controlled with an Android phone or tablet app. The big theme at CES 2011 was cross-platform connectivity; phones, tablets, computers, TVs, and pretty much any mobile device will all soon be able to work together to carry your virtual identity across platforms. The SH100 was the only digital camera at the whole show that figured into the scheme, so if connectivity floats your boat more than picture quality or features, the SH100 is for you. While we're not totally wowed by the SH100, we're giving it a few more points than it probably deserves thanks to its innovative connectivity.

Samsung Reviews

Known more for their smartphones than their cameras, Samsung offers the most connected line of imaging products for those who love the instant uploads from their cell phone but want to step up in quality.

Samsung has lead the way in the camera industry when it comes to sharing digital images—and even taking them. The Samsung NX3000 has a feature that allows you to wink at the camera to snap the photo, designed for selfie lovers. Some of their latest models can share images with a phone just by tapping the two devices together.

For those looking for the best image quality with the most connectivity, Samsung's mirrorless models are the way to go. While they feature the connectivity of a Samsung, they have large sensors and decent processors too. You'll likely pay a bit more over a camera without wi-fi or any connectivity, but for many the difference is well worth it.

Samsung's Galaxy cameras go beyond just connecting with wi-fi and add 3G so users can upload without sending it to a smartphone via wi-fi. Samsung offers a few budget models too, and while you get what you pay for applies to the image quality, not very many budget cameras include wi-fi.

Samsung has also taken style to heart. Many of their cameras feature a faux leather wrap, giving them a classy look.

If you are looking for a connected camera, Samsung is the manufacturer to consider.
